How many falsehoods can @elonmusk fit into a 24 hour period? The ever impressive @BBCRosAtkins tries to find out….

Devastating!
Just imagine - it’s 1965. You pose with your husband and daughters for a new Ladybird book: The Postman.
Ladybird immortality beckons.
But when the book is finally published ... you find you’ve been turned into ...
It’s a no brainer, surely.
💙 The Green Party would properly fund our #NHS and ensure it was run for people, not profit.

❌ Unproven carbon capture technology aiding more fossil fuel production.
✅ Natural carbon capture through restoration of woodlands, peatlands, wetlands.
Despite a landscape of failed #CCS projects around the world, the Govt is throwing £22bn at the technology - allowing fossil fuel companies to pursue new polluting projects
There is a nature-based alternative. Why isn't the Govt looking at that?

Tony Benn’s plea to see Arabs as humans is as true today as it was then; we don’t have men of his moral fibre in Parliament anymore, instead we have careerist cowards who have barely mentioned today’s slaughter in Lebanon

Word of the day is ‘kuchisabishii’, from Japanese: boredom eating, or the making of frequent visits to the fridge in the hope of finding something new to munch on.
Its literal translation is ‘lonely mouth’.

The Green Party stands in solidarity with our Muslim communities and all those who have been left fearful by the events of the last week. The fascist violence we are seeing on our streets cannot be allowed to divide our communities. I commend people in the areas that have been targeted for uniting together as communities to oppose racism.
The rise of the far right has been fuelled by toxic rhetoric from some in the previous government. All political leaders now need to show a clear message of support for all our communities and work to build unity and understanding.

🧵 Just to recap, because events move so fast, it’s hard to make sense of them: firstly, a group of far right politicians, social media ‘names’ & organised fascists jumped on a tragedy to claim that the person responsible for the carnage in Southport was a Muslim / refugee. 1/13

Replying to @RoryStewartUK
Rory Rory Rory please mention this…
If I have to leave the U.K. then I have to leave. I just want answers because once I close down my business and sell my house there is no going back.
I have written to my MP Rishi Sunak, His reply was unsatisfactory and now I get no response.
Due to the government’s cruel new financial requirements for a U.K. spouse visa (£29,000 soon to be £38,000 I will have to leave the U.K. I am a British citizen Anna is not. Anna and I have been together 8 years. Married.
I am self employed, I own my house outright. Anna is a university graduate, freelance artist, illustrator, speaks 3 languages.
I don’t meet the new U.K. financial requirements. I visit Anna several times a year, (Anna has visited me in the U.K. many times but as the U.K. government are on this drive to get the numbers down we dare not risk getting a refusal on a tourist visa now that we are married) When I’m visiting Anna I’m not working so I’m not earning. I also live in the north of England, wages are lower than London. We are also paying rent on an apartment overseas! We are tied up in the governments game to get the numbers down.
To apply for the spouse visa it cost £1800+ if it is refused that money burns and we would have to pay another £1800 to reapply. The total cost of a spouse visa including the language test would be £5000+. This money may be needed to start our lives together in another country so could I please get some answers from someone in government.

Everyone knows Labour are going to win the election, but if you’re feeling like there’s no point in voting as the outcome is a foregone conclusion, I’d like to draw your attention to something really radical that is on offer tomorrow: 1/8

As others have said, cornflower thrown at an ancient monument makes the news, with lots of pearl clutching, but this huge peaceful march by hundreds of thousands of people who know we are killing Nature gets almost no coverage.
No wonder Govts won't listen to eco common sense.
Where is the media @BBC
@LBC @itvnews @MailOnline
@itn when hundreds of thousands peaceful protests march for nature?
@ChrisGPackham 100% correct when he said that the media only report whena bit of cornstarch is thrown on #Stonehenge
#marchfornature
