Pennsylvania Governor @JoshShapiroPA is calling to #abolish the death penalty.
The state hasn’t executed anyone in a generation but still has 120+ people on death row, who a future governor could try to execute.

“Today, I am respectfully calling on the General Assembly to work with me to abolish the death penalty once and for all here in Pennsylvania,” Shapiro said in a news conference at Mosaic Community Church in Philadelphia.

President Biden is also asking Health and Human Services and the Justice Department to review how #marijuana is scheduled under federal law.
More than 6,500 people were convicted of simple possession between 1992 and 2021 under federal law, and thousands more under DC code.
