Why are Illinois drivers paying so much more for gas than drivers in every neighboring state? Illinois is averaging about 56 cents more per gallon than the five states sharing its border. That adds up every time we fill the tank.
That’s another record high. And here’s what Donald Trump said right before the 2024 election: “When I win, I will immediately bring prices down starting on day one.” It’s been 19 months, and it’s only gotten worse.

I feel for those in Illinois that don’t live near a border state and are forced to pay the higher Illinois gas prices.

A year ago, my friend Charlie Kirk was murdered. I wish we lived in a country where we talked to each other more. Not just to people who agree with us, but especially to people who don’t. Charlie showed up. He spoke his mind. He listened. He debated. He believed ideas should be answered with ideas. Politics gets heated. People get angry. But no disagreement is worth a human life. Keep talking to each other. I’m thinking of Charlie and praying for his family today. May God rest his soul.

“You come for my people, you come through me.” The lack of self-reflection, awareness and humility in that statement is remarkable. What about protecting Illinoisans? Katie is a perfect example of state failure: a 20-year-old sitting at a red light, killed by a previously deported Guatemalan national who returned using a false identity and obtained an Illinois driver’s license under that alias. Yet Illinois continues to keep a one-sided ledger of compassion. Katie deserves to be on it.
One year ago, Donald Trump sent his troops to terrorize our state in Operation Midway Blitz. In the year since, I’ve witnessed the resilience of our communities and our people. And what I said then still rings true today: You come for my people, you come through me.

Come on Illinois, all we have is each other, no republican party, no money, and zombies from the cemeteries, but we can beat them. Let's go-vote Republican.

We need to organize and vote @GovPritzker out of office!
We need to organize, vote, and govern with a fighting spirit like never before. That’s what @WeAreUnidosUS has always done. And now we have to all stand up and speak out — be loud for America.

Driving Home   People ask me if I remember that night.   The truth is, I remember all of it.   Continued as thread….

But I can choose how I move forward.   My scars tell the story of one terrible night, but they also remind me that I’m still here.   Every new day is a gift.

And as long as I have another day, another sunrise, and another opportunity to tell my story, I will keep moving forward—not because the road is easy, but because it’s still mine to travel.
