ACES, which stands for Alternative CErvical Screening, is a group of studies which aims to explore urine as an alternative to current cervical screening.

Screening for #CervicalCancer is offered by GPs, but in the future, people could take their own samples at home. Research has shown that self-sampling has a lower carbon footprint than in-person sampling.

Cervical screening is an important test to help prevent cancer. It should be easily accessible for everyone who needs it, and so we welcome the results of the You Screen trial which found that HPV self-sampling could help more women and people with a cervix to access screening.
The eagerly awaited results of the You Screen trial on HPV self-sampling tests have been published today and show it could be a game-changer for people who haven’t attended their cervical screening.
