Built GRIDLOCK as a solo developer, and today it won 1st place in the HAMM (Help Apps Make Money) category at RevenueCat Shipaton 2026! 🏆
From an idea to a game on the App Store, it’s been quite a journey.
A huge thank you to @RevenueCat and everyone who supported the project.
More to come. 🚀

💸 HAMM (Help Apps Make Money) winner: GRIDLOCK by @ACDNDSN
Tic-tac-toe goes big league, with monetization built around one shared Credits currency. Players can earn credits through rewarded ads, buy packs, or subscribe, while the core modes stay free.
hmm... is that how it is supposed to look like?

I’ve spent months obsessing over how GRIDLOCK looks.
Lately I’ve been wondering how that same board feels to someone with protanopia, deuteranopia or tritanopia.
GRIDLOCK is already understandable without color, but I don’t just want it to be usable.
I want GRIDLOCK to feel just as much like GRIDLOCK, regardless of how you see color.
Time to experiment.

What if Special Moves decides to goes against you & Pause is done being just a spectator ?

ECHO update is out now on the App Store.
I played a 2-player GRIDLOCK match against the bot.
ECHO took the match — every move, swing, claim, mistake and comeback — and turned it into its own little symphony.
No two matches should sound quite the same.
Here’s mine.
Have you generated yours yet?

Every Match is Unique.

I may have made some questionable decisions while reinventing tic-tac-toe.
Can't show you all of them yet.

All for tic-tac-toe.
At some point these stopped being “questionable decisions” and became an architecture.

I tried to turn a whole match into a wallpaper. It looked terrible.
That failure split one idea into two: where a match ends, and how it gets there.
Why GRIDLOCK has CANVAS and ECHO:
#Shipaton #BuildInPublic #GRIDLOCK
I set out to build Tic-Tac-Toe. I ended up with a game that composes its own soundtrack.
No prerecorded music. No AI. The match itself is the composition.
How GRIDLOCK's ECHO works:

THIS IS GRIDLOCK ECHO
What if a board game could compose its own soundtrack?
I set out to build Tic-Tac-Toe. I ended up with deterministic replay, procedural composition, a 48 kHz sample clock, a Metal video renderer and refundable export transactions.
GRIDLOCK now turns every match into a song and a film. No prerecorded music. No AI model. Same match, same song. Every move, every Nuke, every comeback becomes music, and a constellation film is drawn on the same clock.
The match itself is the composition.

Alright folks.About to go down the ECHO rabbit hole properly.
I’m writing two things:
A full technical breakdown of how GRIDLOCK turns a verified match into a deterministic piece of music + a synchronised film.
And a proper article about the other side of it — why ECHO exists, the terrible early experiments, the iterations, and how “make sounds from moves” eventually became “make the match itself the composition.”
One is about how ECHO works.
The other is about why ECHO exists.
#Shipaton #BuildInPublic #GRIDLOCK
Every #GRIDLOCK match now leaves an echo.
This 2player against a bot became a song, and the song drew this constellation, one star per move, in time with the music.
No two matches sound or look the same.
Match Echo, coming soon.
PS: Just like wallpaper, music is not generated by AI. All calculations & generation happen locally.
