📢This Friday, join us in letting Alberta know that all classes of wetlands are vital and deserve protection!
HOW: A phone call blitz to the AB gov't
WHEN: Friday, Oct. 23, 2026
More details in thread →
albertawilderness.ca/act-now…
WHY: The gov't has decided some types of wetlands are expendable. We must get LOUD and demand stronger protections, making it clear that the public values all types of wetlands and the benefits they provide. →
WHAT’S THE PLAN? On Oct. 23, we need you to:
-Call your MLA
-Call Grant Hunter, the Minister of Environment and Protected Areas: (780)-427-2391
-Call any other gov't official you want
-Encourage everyone and anyone who might be interested to do the same

14 bears have been killed by government-endorsed hunters in Alberta. 🐻 We have no idea why.
In July 2024, Alberta’s Wildlife Management Responder Network was announced and promoted as a way to “protect Albertans’ lives and livelihoods.” →
We don’t know why these bears were considered problem animals, how the province decided these bears needed to be killed, or the extent to which these deaths are impacting the population. →
Albertans should be allowed to know how our wildlife is being managed, but none of the information to do so is available.
