After I left, the Board voted to support passage next week of County Council Bill 61-26, the zoning code update that will finally remove the requirement that farmers get a certificate of use to farm on their land.
My hope is that their support for the bill will lead to a unanimous vote by our County Council.

This morning, I joined the Anne Arundel County Department of Inspections and Permits to host a live efficiency showcase, highlighting some of the major turnaround time reductions and digital modernization across the county's permitting system.

If the County Council passes our zoning code update on Monday night, the bottlenecks caused by twenty years of code inconsistencies and obscurities will finally be removed. That will allow the next administration to move permits even more efficiently.
