My father told me this once and I stated plainly that I would rather die penniless and alone in a gutter than live mired in lies. I told him that such habitual, cowardly lying rots the soul and has ruined the world. This attitude extends to everything they see. Women, covid, politics, safety, crime, no thought for the future or the consequences of lies, only an ardent demand that we ignore those ruinous truths because doing so lets us pretend to be happy now. I watched the world around me go insane, I watched people destroy themselves, I learned a full fucking third of my generation was slaughtered on the altar, all justified with these polite little lies, all justified with “but telling the truth makes people sad so we have to lie :)”. This “advice” will destroy you. A good life isn’t found in pursuit of polite little lies, it’s not maintained by letting people destroy themselves and others over falsehoods, and certainly not in pursuit of some faux short-term “happiness”. One day you’ll lie about what you believe, the next it’ll be about what you want, next you’ll lie to yourself about who you are and by the end, you’ll just be an empty shell to be filled by the demons of modernity. Happiness is not found in telling lies, but by aligning yourself, your desires and your beliefs upon the axis of creation; those rules of nature under which we must all live.
