STOP CALLING IT A "MEMBER DISCOUNT"
I have walked into a grocery store to buy a carton of eggs and a box of cereal.
The price tag on shelf:
regular price: $9.49
club member price: $4.29
"did you scan your member barcode at checkout?"
"no, i just want to buy breakfast."
"then it's nine dollars and forty-nine cents." 😑
So, it’s not a discount. 😶 It’s an artificial 120% markup designed to blackmail you into downloading an ad tracker and handing over your email address just to pay the actual cost of a staple food.

NYC now legally requires companies to make cancelling a subscription as simple as signing up, the first US city to do so

Shuhei Yoshida stated that players and developers don’t need a new generation of consoles or more power, and PlayStation and Nintendo need to keep things generation as long as possible🚀
“I think people are very happy using PS5 and Switch 2.
People have finite budget, and it feels like PC and consoles, the components very specific to these devices have increased the price way more than all the other forms of entertainment.
People who have systems like PS5, Switch 2 or good enough PCs, probably will be happy to play games on them, and not necessarily consider replacing them.”
He also added that developers aren’t looking for more console power or better hardware and the current one is good for many years to come.
“I don’t think lots of people are asking for ‘more power, we need more power’. Or even developers, I don’t think developers are asking ‘we need better hardware’, or [anything] like that. So I think that means that the current generation, Sony and Nintendo, are going to do pretty well for many years to come, still.”
Shuhei Yoshida continues to be a voice of reason within this industry, and shows just how much he understands the gaming community and what it truly needs, away from the never ending greed of corporate overlords who are always pushing for the next milestone that barely adds anything to the consumer and only seeks to double the price tag😎
Within the Vtuber space alone, I’ve been:
- ignored on purpose by people who told me they wanted to talk to me more, to which I reached out only to never get responses
- lied about and had rumors spread about me for things that either never happened or that were gravely exaggerated by the rumor starter
- mistreated by people I thought of as friends
- stolen from by people I trusted
- manipulated into feeling bad for people that hurt me when I tried to set clear and reasonable boundaries
- threatened by people to go public with problems that were completely personal and that I was willing to work and compromise to fix fully in private
- bullied and put down by those around me for seeing any type of success
I used to be far more outgoing in this space. I used to be more down for doing collabs with people I barely knew and getting closer to people quickly cause I had faith people could be cool; but after so many years of heartbreak, broken trust, and being taken advantage of I now keep to myself a lot more.
I almost quit twice from streaming entirely due to how I’ve been treated, but I’m grateful I didn't.
I know there are many incredible and amazingly kind people in this space. I try to be one of those people that likes to focus on the positives, but I also know there are more people out there just trying to get their bag and climb their ladder faster than anyone else.
I care most about creating. Sharing my voice, my craft, & my stories. Finding other people that want the same. I want genuine friends cause while most of my life has been filled with loneliness and bullying, I still think there is a place that will accept me.
I have been finding that more since keeping to myself. I may not be growing a lot, honestly I’ve been in a decline numbers wise. I am not a hot topic anymore but I am happier than I have been in so long.
And that’s cause I feel I have actually found people, friends, that not only care about me as a person… but that also have that same creative drive and focus towards making stuff.
For anyone who is struggling. Know that it's not all bad. There may be a lot of shit to wade through in this space but there are absolute gems of human beings to find.
Just keep and eye on any red flags from people and be willing to set up boundaries for yourself, and most importantly, don't let shit people spot YOU from sharing your creative voice 🫂
The content creation world frustrates me more than any other professional domain. High school mentality is prevalent in all worlds, but it feels so much worse in vtubing.
People are so careless, heartless, thoughtless, so eager to take, take, and take without ever thinking of giving back or sparing a thought for those they've hurt or stepped on to get to where they are
It makes it real hard to remember and see the good in a world so constantly drowning in awfulness. One can only give so much before they have nothing left.

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Trace everything.
trace hands, trace faces, trace IRL pictures, trace 3D models, trace others' artworks.
Tracing is learning. You memorize it, then you don't need to trace it anymore.
Not tracing means not improving in art, speacially if you're a beginner. go ahead and trace.

That whole thing of apparently hinting that they want you to do something with them instead of just INVITING YOU
"I'm going to the cinema tomorrow" is informing me that you're going I DON'T KNOW YOU WANT ME TO COME UNLESS YOU SAY SO
