Learn these Linux Concepts 🚀 Here is why 👇 The vast majority of server infrastructure runs on Linux, making it the most popular operating system. As a DevOps engineer, it's essential to have a strong understanding and working knowledge of popular Linux distributions used by organizations, such as RHEL, Ubuntu etc. You will also come across many of these concepts when working with Containers and Kubernetes. Also, it will help you in DevOps enginner interviews as well. Along with the concepts mentioned in the image, here are some practical things you can do to learn linux. ➡️ Install and Configure web servers (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, etc..) and learn how web servers work. ➡️ Setup Firewall rules only to allow specific ports. ➡️ Try to analyze IPtable rules. ➡️ Host static/Dynamic websites on web servers and play around with different configurations. ➡️ Setup Load balancers & Reverse Proxy (Nginx, HA proxy, etc). Understand each configuration and algorithm behind load balancing. ➡️ Setup and Database and understand its configurations and management. (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc) ➡️ Break something and learn to troubleshoot. ➡️ Develop shell scripts to automate repeated tasks. ➡️ Try to learn the commands while working on real-world scenarios. Complete DevOps Engineer Roadmap (Free): bit.ly/dvops-roadmap Please share your tips in the comments. Also, When it comes to Linux, it’s all terminal so get your hands dirty with the terminals of these systems. You can use a Virtual box with Vagrant or Use free cloud credits to spin up Linux servers. Note: The image provided is not an exhaustive list of everything in linux. Found the information useful? ♻️ Repost and share with the DevOps community 🙂 Got any tips?
