Letting the foreground tell the story. 🌾🏔️ A great foreground gives a landscape photo instant depth, drawing your eyes straight through the frame. I love using natural textures to anchor a wide view. Have a peaceful Saturday night, everyone!

14 miles in the mountains today, we just got home. The mountains were hiding in the fog most the morning, but we had about a 30 minute window to pop off a ton of photos. Haha The dogs had an absolute blast! Our little family outing for our Anniversary. 🥰

“Nature always wears the colors of the spirit.” 💙🦢 A perfect moment of stillness. I love how a calm water surface acts as a second canvas, pulling the colors and clouds down from above to create total symmetry around this blue heron.

Fire and fog over the water. 🧡🌊 I love the heavy contrast of dark tree silhouettes cutting through a glowing orange mist. It creates a beautiful layer of depth that you can only catch during those brief, fleeting moments at dawn.

"Even in the midst of a storm there is a ray of hope." 🌅☀️ Chasing sunbeams as they cut through heavy clouds is the most rewarding moment in landscape photography. It’s a reminder that the light always breaks through eventually. Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend ahead.

There is a fleeting moment right before the sun crosses the horizon where the entire atmosphere changes. I’m always chasing those soft gradients and quiet transitions. Do you find yourself waking up early for dawn, or do you prefer chasing the sunset?

Silhouettes and gold. 🌳☀️ Shooting directly into the sun is a challenge, but when you align a single subject perfectly against a bright backdrop, the natural contrast is unmatched. How do you usually like to handle harsh backlighting when you're out in the field?

Understanding how colors interact completely changes how you shoot. 🎨👁️ I love using color theory to create natural contrast in my landscape photography. Pushing complementary tones against each other instantly makes a frame pop. What is your absolute favorite color combination to hunt for when you're out shooting?

Finding quiet moments out on the water. There is a unique peace in watching wildlife move through the calm lake reflections of mornings first light.

“Orange is a color that demands to be seen.” Whether it's a dramatic sunset or autumn leaves, it’s one of my absolute favorite colors to capture. Do you prefer shooting warm, vibrant tones like this, or do you tend to favor cooler blues and greens?

"Every bridge tells a story of where we've been and where we're going." 🌉✨ There is something so powerful about the geometry of a great bridge against the horizon. Do you prefer capturing massive suspension bridges, or quiet, rustic wooden ones?

“The silhouette says a lot with very little information.” Stripping away the details to let the shape tell the story. I’m always looking for inspiration — how do you usually like to frame your sunrise or sunset shots?

Digging into the archives for a dramatic #ThrowbackThursday. I love looking back at old photos where the lighting feels intense and theatrical. Do you prefer shooting landscapes under bright clear skies, or do you chase the moody drama too?

Who gives a hoot about owls anyway? I came across this beauty on this mornings run. It would not stop starring at Olly. 🤣 Always a delight running into these beauties!

The sun graces us later and later. Now we are running under the stars and finishing at first light. But that doesn’t mean we can’t capture some great visuals!! This owl was WAY more concerned with Olly than me and Loki. 🤣
