The Viper V4 Pro is 49 grams and aimed at esports. The G Pro X2 Superstrike threw out its click switch for a haptic motor. Both do 8,000Hz wireless, so this ends without a winner. 7items.com/mouse/the-viper-v…

Throttle control improves a lot, because feathering finally works. Trail braking still needs a pedal, since 4mm is not enough travel. Analog keys report how far down you press them. Plenty of brands sell analog boards now. 7items.com/keyboard/map-the-…

Map the G512 X analog keys to throttle and brake and you get a real position axis instead of on-off. The catch is room: a magnetic key travels 4mm, where Logitech's own brake pedal travels 33mm.

It smooths edges and gradients, which is real but limited. Only three of the five 2026 UltraGear evo models have it. The feature needs a 1080p or better source and stays off below that. Leave it on for video and handhelds, off for competitive shooters. 7items.com/monitor/ai-upscal…

LG's UltraGear evo runs its 5K AI upscaling inside the monitor, after your graphics card has finished the frame. It only ever sees finished pixels, so it cannot invent detail the game never drew.

Sub-60g weights and 8,000Hz polling moved down the ladder too. The extra money buys shell rigidity, skates, battery and software. Sensor specs stopped being a buying signal about two generations back. Pick by grip, weight and the games you play. 7items.com/mouse/cheap-mice-…

Hero and Focus Pro sensors now ship in $40 mice, so a $40 mouse tracks your hand the same way a $180 one does. The sensor line on the box stopped sorting the price tiers years ago.

A magnetic board cannot read a mechanical switch, and vice versa. Magnet polarity differs between brands, even in identical-looking bodies. That is what breaks cross-brand swaps. Hot-swap here is a repair feature more than a customisation one. 7items.com/keyboard/your-key…

Your keycaps fit Gateron KS-20 magnetic switches, because every magnetic switch uses a standard MX stem. The switches are the strict part, since the sensing happens down on the board.

INDX, KliTek and AMS each fail differently. A purge feeder dumps about 8 grams every colour change, nozzle swapping bets on perfect re-seating, and toolchangers cost the most. 7items.com/3d-printing/indx-…

Keychron sells the K2 HE both ways. The Concrete Edition ships matte PBT caps and the Resin Edition glows through smoky clear ones, each at a $199.99 launch price.

PBT is a harder plastic. It keeps its matte, slightly grippy texture for years under the same fingers. If shine bugs you, pick the plastic before the brand.

ABS goes shiny first where you type most: the spacebar, WASD and the home row. Finger oil and friction polish those caps while the rest of the board stays dull.

That greasy shine on your ABS spacebar is plastic your fingers have polished smooth, and no cleaner will bring the texture back.
