$SPY Your short term momentum indicator is the 8 EMA. SPY is just following this up the whole ride. No exiting longs until it is tested, among other things. I won't exit a trade based on an EMA alone, it is just a guide.

$TSLA with a drop, retrace right to the 34 EMA, and rejection. Add that 34 EMA to your chart and see if it helps you manage your trades. It's one of the very select few indicators I will look at. I'm generally not an indicator guy, but this one makes it to most of my charts.
