Why is it the food you know your stomach won't appreciate is so often exactly what you end up craving most?
😂😂😂
If you're lactose intolerant, you already know, don't you?
You can avoid dairy for a long time and not have any issues.
Then you see a milkshake, a bowl of ice cream, some ridiculously good cheesecake, or whatever your personal weakness happens to be, and suddenly all that discipline starts to disappear.
You already know what you're signing up for. You know there will likely be some regret afterward. You may even spend the next morning wondering why you did this to yourself. And yet, sometimes that dessert's just too good to pass up.
Obviously, if dairy consistently causes you serious symptoms, it makes sense to avoid it and talk with a healthcare professional about what works for you. But for some people, lactose intolerance is more about managing an occasional indulgence in moderation than never enjoying dairy again at all. Lactose free options and lactase products can also make certain treats easier to handle.
And maybe there's something to be said for occasionally deciding that the temporary consequences are worth the enjoyment. Not every choice has to be optimized. Sometimes you eat the ice cream, enjoy every bite, accept that your stomach may have some opinions about it later, and move on.
Life's all about balance. You don't need to feel guilty every time you enjoy something that isn't perfectly aligned with your usual routine.
But be honest with yourself. Is that scoop of ice cream really worth what you're about to put yourself through?

Bob Uecker received the Hall of Fame's Ford C. Frick Award and gave his Cooperstown speech in 2003.
The speech became famous for how funny it was, with Johnny Bench later calling it the greatest Hall of Fame speech. Uecker somehow turned a career honor into a comedy performance without making the honor feel smaller.
That's a difficult balance, and he was uniquely built for it.

My eyes were wet from start to finish. I thought of being little in a big world & watching my son's first tries at this mad game. ESPN's Open to the NHL season is beautiful. I didn't expect to cry today-this is stunning. There's nothing like this sport. We at ESPN love the sport as you do. ❤️ Enjoy.

This angle gets me, where he’s just kind of standing there soaking it in, then sees his daughter and smiles, then instantly melts into tears … whew. Hell of a run, 35.

The perfect ending for Justin Verlander.
His daughter runs out to the mound and he walks off with his family.
Feels like a movie.

Norm MacDonald and Phil Hartman doing one of the best long setups for a five second punchline 😂
MacDonald always said Hartman had the best work ethic of any of the cast members during his time at the show, and wrote this joke for Weekend Update when he found out Hartman would return to host in 1996. Frankenstein is easily Top 5 best characters Hartman ever did.
