If we eliminated disease, eradicated poverty, educated every child and established world peace, but failed to "preach the Gospel to every creature" we would only have made the world a better place from which to go to Hell. (Thought from Pastor Billy Knox)

Make sure all the nutty things you are saying about me you also say about your beloved RC Sproul, because we believe the same on this issue.
God has exalted His Word above His name. I was taught to dress with respect when we deliver that Word to God’s people.

One might enquire about the mechanics of reading the Scripture through seven times a year.
I long ago determined to read 27 chapters a day Monday through Thursday which is the bulk of my work-week and 18 chapters a day Friday through Sunday which is the essence of my weekend. That gives a cumulative total of reading the Book through seven times a year with some to spare for sick days or times of unusual schedule. (I often read more on the weekend than prescribed to account for times I might miss during the week.)
I have generally broken my reading schedule into three times a day in which I read nine chapters each. That generally is the (1) first thing in the morning when I rise, (2) over the noon hour, and then (3) sometime during the evening prior to bedtime. It has a habit which has kept me in God's Word literally day and night for almost a quarter of a century.

"Pastors objected to Isaac Watts in his day. They thought his music was too new and too worldly.”
Or did they? Read along as I attempt to track down a source for this oft-repeated notion.
