We had a security breach last night related to a large scale distillation attack that impacted 1.4% of OpenCode Console users
We have notified them all this morning via email. If you did not get an email you were not impacted, it was a subset of users who had external providers linked
The incident is ongoing so we cannot share more details at this point but we are working with Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google to remediate

MEME: If GPT-7 is AGI, OpenAI could potentially ditch Broadcom entirely and bring everything in-house, as GPT-7 could be better than Broadcom at designing 224G SerDes, handling PD, and managing the supply chain.
Designing a chip like this in under a year shows how much AI can accelerate innovation.
Jalapeño, our first AI chip, is included in @TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026 list.
“We’re honored that TIME has recognized Jalapeño, our first AI-acceleration chip, which is designed to bring useful AI to more people more efficiently. As demand for AI grows, we’ll continue innovating across our full stack from model to silicon to make AI's benefits widely accessible.” — Richard Ho, VP Hardware

New from our STEM Fellows Program: Designing more efficient quantum circuits with Claude.
Given plain-language instructions, Claude Mythos 5 designed quantum circuits that improve on the best published ones, sometimes by an order of magnitude or more.
More efficient circuits reduce the resources needed by quantum algorithms, which could bring quantum computing applications in chemistry and materials science within reach sooner.

Claude Managed Agents dynamic workflows are now available in public beta. It's a new type of multiagent orchestration, built for your most ambitious workloads.
A lead agent writes a plan that runs across many agents in phases, combining the results at the end.
Claude now works inside Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, and those files also open inside Claude.
In Google Workspace, Claude sits in a sidebar next to your file, reads what you have open, and edits it in place. You can approve each edit before it lands.

Meet Mistral Large 4, aka Le Chonk.
• 1T parameters, natively multimodal. 49B active.
It is the best open weights model from US or Europe on aggregated benchmarks.
• State-of-the-art on critical workloads, including cyber defense, manufacturing and finance and it surpasses closed frontier models on visual grounding.
• Forged in Europe end-to-end and is deployable from Europe via our own Mistral Cloud infrastructure.
• Available to all via API today. Working with cybersecurity partners privately.
Open weights release end of October.

Claude Code will now try to find a graceful stopping point when you hit your 5-hour limit mid-task, instead of cutting off mid-edit. It gets a small, fixed allowance pulled from your weekly limit to wrap up what it can.
Claude Opus 5.5 has been out for a few days. Some of our favorite things people have explored and discovered with it so far:

I asked Opus 5.5 to explain camera focus by building an interactive lens lab
Here's what it came up with after 1 hour 26 minutes in one shot, $25.66 API cost

Move the focus ring and you can see the glass elements shift the sharp plane through the scene
