ALT Serving in public office should never mean putting a target on your back. We unequivocally condemn this call for violence against elected officials and any rhetoric that threatens the safety of people who have stepped up to serve their communities. Calling for violence against elected officials is not just reckless — it is fundamentally un-American. In New Hampshire, we have a proud tradition of neighbors having debates, organizing, voting, and making their voices heard. That is democracy. Violence is not. We should be making it easier for people to step up and serve their communities, not creating a political culture where public service comes with threats of assassination.
