Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley called the committee’s decision to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt a meaningful step.

- Fauci’s sweeping presidential pardon (covering back to 2014) is now central. Chairman Rand Paul framed questions to stay inside the pardon’s scope, arguing Fauci no longer has a valid Fifth Amendment claim on those matters because he cannot be prosecuted for the underlying conduct — only for potential perjury.

I am trying to make Congress work to improve the education system for Louisianans. Today’s meeting with Secretary McMahon was a step in that effort. Unfortunately, Democrats undermined a good-faith conversation with Secretary McMahon. We even rescheduled the original meeting so Democrats could make it.
Democrats will not dictate the terms of today’s meeting and have lost the chance to speak to the Secretary today.
