I had the privilege of working for Kylie. An absolute rockstar. Deeply passionate about user safety and making the platform better for everyone.
She has done remarkable work in platform integrity, user safety, policy development and enforcement, which has really moved the needle. I remember going to her with an idea and shipping code moments later. That is how good a force multiplier she is.
“Society grows great when people plant trees in whose shade they know they will not sit under.” That is the summary of Kylie’s contributions to X. Thank you, Kylie. Excited about what you do next.
@michaelo you have big shoes to fill. Wishing you the very best.
A quick update: I resigned as Head of Safety at X in July, and with @michaelo recently announcing that he’ll be taking on the role, it feels like the right time to share the news.
I’m incredibly grateful for my time at X and for the opportunity to work on something I care so much about. Thanks @elonmusk and @lindayaX for taking a bet on me! Above all else, I’m grateful for the @safety team. I love these people and have enormous respect for the work they do every day to make X safer.
It was a privilege to lead this team, and I’m so proud of what we accomplished together. I couldn’t be happier to see @michaelo back on the team and taking the reins - I know the team is in great hands!
Thank you to everyone who made this chapter so meaningful. I’ll be cheering the team on from the sidelines. ❤️
Here is Steve Jobs describing best managers. It is an apt characterization of @kyliem and the culture she created at Safety.

"It is a bit embarrassing to have been concerned with the human problem all one's life and find at the end that one has no more to offer by way of advice than 'Try to be a little kinder'." --Aldous Huxley
Pale amber sunlight falls across
The reddening October trees
That hardly sway before a breeze
As soft as summer: summer's loss
Seems little, dear! on days like these
Beyond the pearled horizons lie
Winter and night: awaiting these
We garner this poor hour of ease,
Until love turn from us and die
Beneath the drear November trees.

I’m proud to share an important update on the work X’s child safety team has done to protect minors on and off the platform. When X is made aware of content depicting or promoting child sexual exploitation, including links to third party sites where this content can be accessed, the accounts sharing this content are reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
As a result of X’s efforts, in 2024, 309 reports made by X to NCMEC led to arrests and subsequent convictions in 10 cases that were confirmed by Law Enforcement agencies. And in the first half of 2025, 170 reports led to arrests. X made a total of 686,176 reports in 2024 and approximately 46% of the reports made to NCMEC were submitted without requiring a human moderator at X to review potentially traumatic content.
We remain committed to protecting children on our platform, and we’ll continue to invest in, and improve detection of child sexual exploitation through automation.
Growing up, had a habit of reflecting on the prior year and often realizing how naive and stupid I was.
Still holding onto that habit, albeit with a shorter duration. Now, every day reminds me how stupid I was yesterday!
They are not long, the weeping and the laughter
Love and desire and hate
I think they have no portion in us after
We pass the gate.
They are not long, the days of wine and roses
Out of a misty dream
Our path emerges for a while, then closes
Within a dream
Deeply saddened by @godfatheriv' s passing. He had a great soul. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
Bottom line: no roleplay or foreplay at Coldplay

Excited to see Meta build on X’s open-source Community Notes, a testament to the power of transparency and community-driven fact-checking! #CommunityNotes #Transparency
At X, we’ve spent years refining @CommunityNotes, driven by our core belief in transparency. That’s why our algorithm and program details have always been open-source — freely available for anyone to use and build upon. This openness has enabled Meta to start with a well-established, academically studied program as a foundation.
As Meta begins their Community Notes program to address misleading content, we’re excited to see that Meta will initially adopt X's open-source algorithm to guide their rating system.

I’m excited to announce our second Global Transparency Report. From July to Dec 2024, we achieved a 61% drop in content violations and a 28% reduction in account violations. My team is dedicated to keeping X safe—transparency is our promise.
Today, we are proud to release X’s second Global Transparency Report, covering safety enforcement from July to December 2024. This report highlights our ongoing commitment to fostering a secure and trustworthy environment for all users.
transparency.x.com
Over this six-month period, our Safety team played a critical role in navigating major global events, including over 28 national elections globally and the US Election. Through this report, we provide full transparency into our content moderation efforts, enforcement actions, and policy implementations. It serves as a valuable resource for our community to better understand how we safeguard platform integrity, respond to legal requests, and protect users at scale.
Notably, we’ve seen significant improvements in key safety metrics:
- Total account violations dropped by approximately 28%, driven primarily by an approximate 28% reduction in Platform Manipulation and Spam violations.
- Total content violations declined by 61%, primarily due to a 64% reduction in Platform Manipulation and Spam violations between H1 and H2.
- Total non-Platform Manipulation and Spam reports decreased by approximately 19% from H1 to H2.
These results reflect the dedication of our Safety team, who work tirelessly to uphold platform integrity worldwide. We are honored to share this report and remain committed to continuous transparency and improvement.
Immanuel Kant was a real piss-ant who was very rarely stable.
Heidegger was a boozy beggar who could think you under the table.
David Hume could out-consume Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel.
And Wittgenstein was a beery swine who was just as sloshed as Schlegel
There's nothing Nietzsche couldn't teach 'ya 'bout the raising of the wrist
Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed
John Stuart Mill, of his own free will, after half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.
Plato, they say, could stick it away, half a crate of whiskey every day!
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle,
And Hobbes was fond of his Dram.
And René Descartes was a drunken fart:
"I drink, therefore I am."

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”
― Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities.
Community notes evoke a sense of Oscar Wilde's depiction in The Importance of Being Earnest: 'On an occasion of this kind, it becomes more than a moral duty to speak one's mind; it becomes a pleasure.'
COMMUNITY NOTES FTW!!! 🔥
Fact-checking and moderation doesn't belong in the hands of a few select gatekeepers who can easily inject their bias into decisions. It's a democratic process that belongs in the hands of many.
And as we've seen on X since @CommunityNotes debuted, it's profoundly successful while keeping freedom of speech sacred.
It's a smart move by Zuck and something I expect other platforms will follow now that X has shown how powerful it is. Bravo!
