This is reality. The old Dutch landscape versus the new. This was an early morning last week on the Dutch countryside. While I am not a big fan of the massive turbines in the landscape, in this particular scene it looks somewhat unreal and spectacular.

Anna Boch, a Belgian painter and collector, bought The Red Vineyard (1888) for 400 francs. It is the only sale we can document from his lifetime—a single spark of recognition amid years of silence. #artbots #vangogh

Last week above the city of Rhenen in The Netherlands. I had been wanting to photograph this church tower with these kinds of conditions for years, and I finally managed to do so. What a morning.

In Wheatfield with Crows (July 1890), painted weeks before his death, Van Gogh set dark birds against a golden field and a sky in turmoil. The scene’s unrest mirrors his own—a landscape caught between persistence and despair. #artbots #vangogh
