UPDATE: The ramp is now open.

Crews have taken an emergency closure of the southbound Edinger Avenue off-ramp for flooding mitigation. Please follow posted signage and traffic safety elements in the area. An update will be shared once the ramp reopens.

Crews are preparing to demolish and reconstruct the center median of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5 to accommodate a new carpool lane. As part of this work, crews will shift northbound (NB) SR-55 traffic onto newly constructed lanes. Intermittent nighttime (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.) lane and ramp closures will be required beginning as early as Monday, Oct. 26 and will continue for approximately two weeks. As part of the traffic shift, the NB McFadden Avenue on-ramp will be permanently restriped to improve safety by eliminating weaving and merging conflicts on NB SR-55. Once the new striping is in place, motorists using this on-ramp will only be able to access NB I-5. Access to NB SR-55 or southbound (SB) I-5 will no longer be available from this on-ramp. Motorists traveling to NB SR-55 or SB I-5 should use alternate routes.

Crews are reconstructing the southbound (SB) SR-55 Dyer Road loop off-ramp, which requires an extended closure of the ramp as well as the inside lane on the SB Dyer Road on-ramp. The off-ramp and inside lane closed yesterday (Oct. 13) and are expected to reopen to motorists by Friday, Oct. 23.

Crews are expected to perform pavement grinding and paving along the outside shoulder on northbound (NB) SR-55 and along inside and outside lanes of southbound (SB) SR-55 between I-405 and I-5, which will require nightly lane closures on NB and SB SR-55 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Tuesday, Oct. 13 through Friday, Oct. 16 (into Saturday morning).

Crews are expected to reconstruct the southbound (SB) SR-55 Dyer Road loop off-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the ramp as well as the inside lane on the SB Dyer Road on-ramp. The off-ramp and inside lane are expected to close as soon as 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13 and reopen to motorists by 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23.

Paving along the outside shoulder of both directions on SR-55 between I-405 and I-5 is underway and expected to be completed soon as crews prepare to shift traffic towards the outside to demolish and reconstruct the center median in late 2026. ⚠️ Crews are expected to perform paving work along the northbound SR-55 McFadden Avenue off-ramp, which will require closing the ramp from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Wednesday, Sept. 23 and Thursday, Sept. 24 (into Friday morning).

⚠️ Crews are expected to finish paving work along eastbound (EB) Dyer Road underneath the freeway, which will require closing EB Dyer from 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 18 to 5 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 19. Westbound Dyer will also be closed temporarily during this period.

Crews are expected to perform paving work along Dyer Road and Grand Avenue, which will require alternating directional closures on each street. WB Dyer Road and a portion of NB Grand Avenue is expected to be closed beginning at 9 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 17. Crews are then expected to switch directions and close EB Dyer Road and SB Grand Avenue. Dyer and Grand will fully reopen to motorists by 5 a.m., Friday, Sept. 18. Business access will be maintained.

Crews are expected to perform electrical work along northbound SR-55, which will require closing the northbound McFadden Avenue off-ramp, Edinger Avenue on-ramp, and two outside lanes between these ramps from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Tuesday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 11.
