UPDATE: 1050am 12/30:VT-100 in Westfield is CLOSED between Buck Hill Rd and Snider Brook Rd is now OPEN to one lane of traffic. Expect delays as crews are still working in the area.

The total solar eclipse is April 8th! Remember to wear your eclipse glasses! It's ONLY safe to look directly at the Sun through special-purpose solar filters, such as “eclipse glasses,” that comply with the ISO 12312-2 international standard. #Eclipse2024
A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk. If you are planning on viewing, be sure you have special-purpose solar filters, such as “eclipse glasses,” that comply with the transmittance requirements of the ISO 12312-2 international standard.

TRAFFIC ALERT: The left lane of I-89 NB in Brookfield is closed near the old rest area due to a TT Unit slide off. Proceed with caution as the TT is being recovered. There is no time table for the closure. Will update when appropriate.

Wintry mix this morning making travel a little difficult in the early morning hours. This precipitation is is expected to bring more trees and limbs down some of which may obstruct the highway. VTRANS crews are on the road and ready to respond to such incidents. Drive safe.
