I remember pre-2023 a lot of the apps people shipped used to be cool Like you knew how hard some things were to make so you were inherently excited to see people shipping stuff Now, for me least, it's all meh. Apps are more powerful but less interesting

Yo antes era de derecha pero creces, te haces autónomo, estudias, lees, entiendes cómo funciona el mundo y ahora soy de extrema derecha

3. Competition Will be Fiercer (the baseline for status will increase) given how the gap between top/bottom will enlarge, we'll enter a point where (despite the counter-argument that robots/AI/etc. will make us more productive with less effort) I certainly think we'll either work more or simply do more "productive" stuff we're a mimetic species where the most common behaviors are often copied from the top, what we see those who have perceptibly better results doing is what the rest will want to do as well also as another example, we may go back in history and think that even though we certainly work less than farmers in the 1700s-1800s - we still work the same or even more than people 30, 40, 50 years ago this happens because as the baseline to what being high-status is increases, the incentives to do more also increases - so competitiveness will increase, likely exponentially of course, all of this will also cause a lot of people to become lazier (but at the competitive levels, it will just cause surge imo)

I wish positivity was more recognized as a quality of resilience. People always think I am naive, sheltered or just naturally optimistic, but it does take much more strength to be positive than it does to wallow

WE'RE IN A TRANSITION MOMENT IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING/DEVELOPMENT IN A FEW MONTHS/YEARS MOST PEOPLE WON'T WRITE CODE BUT EDIT/NARRATE WHAT THEY WANT ENJOY YOUR LAST FEW MOMENTS OF MANUAL CODING - LIKELIHOOD THEY WON'T REPEAT FOR MOST PEOPLE MAY BE HIGH

Bourdain made a decent show and left us with an important Lindy lesson Men have trouble handling breakups and it's easy to spin off the rails and do something crazy. 2 thousand years ago Ovid wrote an entire book on this topic called Remedia Amoris

I remember when this came out some engineers and developers were like, "no this dude is nuts not gonna happen" Now no one is writing code anymore, many can't even find a job and few people are still investing in pure software
"Software Engineering Will Be Automatable in 12 Months," Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei predicts that AI models will be able to do 'most, maybe all' of what software engineers do end-to-end within 6 to 12 months, shifting engineers to editors.

Technical moats are mostly over at this point. If you’re building something that’s mean to be durable, the only moats now are: - La mano arriba - cintura sola - Da media vuelta - Danza kuduro
