Mock-playing an entry from home in the Keeneland Fall handicapping contest with a fictitious starting bankroll of $250. I'm bummed at the odds but will go all-in with $250 win on #7 in race 1.

Not at Keeneland, I'll be mock-playing from home 1 entry in the $400 Fall handicapping contest tomorrow. I'll be all-in early with #7 Colonel Caliente in race 1...which means there's a good chance that runner will end up being scratched.

I’d love to know how much $$$ on his nose it took in that large of a win pool to move his odds from 10-1 at 0 MTP to 9-1 loading to 7-1 out of the gate.

Sometimes the speed of the speed wins, even in fields loaded w/frontrunners, and payoffs can be juicy. I like Napoleon Solo in this scenario today. There's so much chatter about an early pace duel, that some riders are sure to take back early. And here is some good info from DRF:

Lots of late $$$ depressed the payout. From 10-1 at 0 MTP to 9-1 loading to 7-1 at the start.

Would Silent Tactic have been short on Derby pts w/o the AR Derby 2nd? Just seems weird to run him in that race when he was dealing w/this same issue back then. bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/… via @BloodHorse

Horseplayers have to take action. I lowered my annual by 90% when the CAW issue arose a few yrs ago. I also submit brutally honest surveys whenever I am sent one by an industry entity.

Worst late odds changes I have ever seen. I have lowered my annual handle by 90% and only wager on big event days now, but it may be time to consider not wagering at all.
Exactly. The industry needs to act NOW and start better managing these pools.

Nothing crude about that velocity. #PatDayMile #PreaknessNext

Taptastic didn't exactly flatter Renegade (nor Silent Tactic nor Litmus Test) there in race 2.

Might as well "watch" @ChurchillDowns turf races on radio. A good portion of a turf race on their live feed is obstructed, and then there's the obnoxious logo mid-screen horizontally.

If anyone could please share the list of 6 legs of the 2-day Oaks/Derby Pick 6, I surely would appreciate it. I'm getting conflicting information. TY

Yes, I've lost much of my interest in horse racing. Yes, I still get Derby fever, and it sounds like the owners of Intrepido have an acute case. For the sake of the horse, I hope he does NOT draw into the race. My notes after reading a DRF article:

Thinking Omaha Bay outruns her odds Fri in the Ashland opening day at Kee. She faced good foes last out, incl. several w/early pace figs comparable to hers, while she was stretching out 1st time. Should've gotten a lot from that race and now faces just 1 foe w/comp. early pace
