Paedophile protection racket in Toowoomba! Joseph Lee Smith was convicted in Toowoomba District Court on 28 August 2026 of more than 100 child sexual offences committed over an 18 month period. The offences included producing child exploitation material and sexual intercourse with children under 16. Victims included children aged 9 to 13 He received an overall sentence of eight and a half years’ imprisonment with immediate parole eligibility! Smith, now 53, had already spent 2,542 days (nearly seven years) in custody on remand, which was declared as time served. Police recovered thousands of child exploitation files from the place he was living at the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba. He has a prior conviction from Bulgaria. In 2008–2009, while around 35 years of age and after working as a junior doctor in Queensland (including at Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane), he was arrested in Varna. He confessed to molesting under age children and creating pornographic material. The Varna County Court sentenced him to five years and five months’ imprisonment. How wasn't he on a sex offender register? How was he able to work with children?
