Sometimes I think people hide behind the atrocities of the world because they give them a reason to deny themselves the courage required to build a new one. I am extremely aware of what is happening in the world. My hope does not come from ignorance of it. If anything, my awareness is exactly why I feel responsible for imagining something different.
