As promised, I’ll share my view on why integrating a token too early is usually a bad decision.
Looking back at 2020–2021, GameFi exploded with projects like $AXS, $SAND, and $MANA. If we examine their token mechanisms carefully, a common pattern emerges:
- Sandbox and Decentraland used a single token that served as governance, utility, and the currency to buy land.
- Axie initially also had only $AXS. Later, to increase the “earn” factor, they introduced $SLP as an in-game token. This sparked a wave of dual-token models that many projects copied. Some projects cleverly used “GOLD” as an in-game item to reduce pressure on the main token, but in essence it was still a dual-token system.
The final outcome for most of these projects was the same: they ended up in the valley of death.
So where does the root problem lie?
In my view, the core issue is that these projects put the token above the game itself.
- VCs needed tokens at a low price to invest.
- Development teams needed tokens to generate profits.
- To attract more players, they created all kinds of items and complex mechanisms — but at the end of the day, everything still revolved around the token.
When the token became the top priority, the game no longer centered on “fun.” It shifted toward “profit.” The pressure to keep the token price from collapsing became greater than the pressure to make the gameplay truly engaging. As a result, genuine gamers gradually left, replaced by traders, bots, and rented players. When the profit incentive was no longer attractive enough, they quit — and the death spiral began.
Looking at 2026, $KINS is also drawing attention, but precisely because of its clear tokenomics, it has attracted a significant number of players who are more focused on making money than on playing for enjoyment.
Coming back to 3place: if we rush to integrate a token the same way previous projects did, the token might pump for a short period, but it will most likely repeat the same collapse cycle. The most important thing about a game must still be that it is fun. Players should be willing to spend money to play even if they earn nothing in return, as long as they find it enjoyable and addictive.
I largely agree with current approach. He is building the game step by step. After about two weeks, the player count has already reached nearly 14,000 — and this number comes from people who genuinely enjoy playing, not from any “earn” incentive. He has accepted the token, accepted our community, and is slowly accumulating supply (around 7%). At the same time, he has not ruled out integrating a token in the future. But the priority right now remains clear: development, bug fixing, performance optimization, gameplay improvements, and adding more content.
If this direction is maintained, we will end up with a game that has strong performance, is fun, and is addictive. Once the player base is large enough and sufficiently loyal, that will be the right time to integrate a token.
Of course, there will still be risks and doubts. But for me personally, those risks are acceptable when weighed against the long-term potential. I have been following the project since the very beginning, and so far everything still feels on the right track. The steady daily increase in players is also an encouraging signal.

Fifteen has bought over 6% of the supply, acknowledged us multiple times in the X community, and stays in contact with me daily.
People are still constantly asking, “When can we add the CA?” or “When are we integrating the token into the game?”
Do you understand how quickly that could kill the game at this early stage?
The priority right now is making the game go viral. He’s focused on building out content, features, and the overall product first. Once the player base reaches 1M+ users, then we can comfortably start talking about a proper token integration that actually makes sense.
There’s a reason he put over $6K into the token himself and will continue to add.
Use your brain. Be patient.
If you’re looking for a quick flip, this probably isn’t for you. This is a slow cook.
