UK police arrested a peaceful elderly protester outside Labour conference for holding a sign that read:“I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.”
Under the Terrorism Act.
That is an extraordinary use of terror law against a cardboard sign.
Treating silent pensioners as terror suspects for words on a placard is something else.
Opposing war, famine, or government policy should not require the full weight of counter-terror legislation.
