ALT On March 19th, 2024, the public live talk 'Smart Sky: Transforming Earth Observation through AI' took place at the Zeiss Großplanetarium in Berlin. The event delved into the realm of satellite imagery provided by the European Copernicus program, unveiling the profound insights they offer into Earth's ecosystems, including biodiversity trends. In three engaging lectures, scientists from NASA (Manil Maskey), the Planetarium (Anna Green), and BIFOLD (Panagiotis Agrafiotis) explained the significance of satellite images, showcased cutting-edge AI techniques employed for analysis, and illuminated the myriad applications stemming from these analyses, all while sharing some of their most spectacular satellite images in the planetarium dome.
