The day before the 118th Boeing Apple Cup, the Huskies welcomed their newest Husky Hero: Gavin, 7, who’s thriving with an inoperable tumor under the care of Seattle Children’s Hospital @seattlechildren.
He toured Husky Stadium, our facility, and ran a play with the team — bringing his spirit from Monroe, Washington, into Husky history.
Gavin’s visit ties into Project Superstar, a community fundraiser supporting Seattle Children’s through Race Porter’s clothing brand, Heart on My Sleeve (HOMS) — a project Porter started while he was a punter for UW Football.
Gavin broke down the team’s final huddle before players surprised him, wearing the purple HOMS shirt he designed for his day.
On our last practice before the Boeing Apple Cup, Gavin brought us back to the joy that makes this game matter.
We can’t wait to make him proud from the stands tomorrow. Thank you, Seattle Children’s and family, for sharing Gavin with us. Husky Nation, meet your newest hero. 🐾💜

Suno - a company that trained on "essentially all music files of reasonable quality that are accessible on the open Internet", and argues it does not need to pay to do so - is now valued at $5.4 billion.
They will pay for GPUs, and for engineers, but not, apparently, for the music they use - other people's music - without which their models would not work.
I know lots of musicians who will be upset. I am with them.

Here is why I'm skeptical. Reading between the lines, DW's lawyer, in one day mind you, says as this contract reads you have to pay UW 4 million and the other school gets rev share (salary cap) reduced by that amount. Is it enforceable? Maybe, maybe not. 1/3

The other school isn’t signing you until that’s determined in the courts which takes time. If you wait to do that they are likely signing other players in the next week. Your best play is to return to UW and become a free agent next year. 2/3
