Jacob Tierney talks to @Andy Cohen about the @NHL's failure to “meet the moment” and deal with their “toxic culture”:
Andy: Isn't it incredible the level of interest in the NHL that has come about from this show? And I will say, I'm happy that the NHL has met the moment and capitalized on it.
Jacob: Have they?
Andy: Have they not?
Jacob: [scoffs] No!... No, they've just hired four rapists to play for them. The NHL is not meeting the moment… The NHL has— I think the NHL has a lot of ongoing work to do.
Andy: Well, y'all have handed the NHL a gift.
Jacob: Yeah, I agree, and it is up to the NHL. It is up to the NHL to actually convince anybody that this is a safe space for people. Because every day they want to prove that it's not.
Andy: Every day they DO prove that that it's not.
Jacob: They are not, they are NOT doing what they should be doing to make their sport an inclusive place.
Andy: And what should they be doing?
Jacob: They really need to deal with their own toxic culture. And they're not, you know? Demonstrably, one team after another proving.
