“I researched the event online. I observed the conference of the largest health care company would be attended by executives, not doctor, nurses or patients. I traveled to Manhattan and emailed leadership posing as an investor managing $58 billion”
"I traveled to NY ... with the intent to shoot Brian Thompson. On the morning of Dec. 4, 2024, I shot Mr. Thompson in Manhattan and he died. When I did so I understood that my actions would place him in fear of death or serious bodily injury. I knew what I was doing was illegal”
The prosecution have submitted their response to the defense’s 14/08 motion to dismiss the remaining murder and firearm counts for Luigi Mangione.
Prosecutors still wish to pursue the counts.

Luigi Mangione’s state trial set to begin on September 8, has now been adjourned until December 10, 2026.
The prosecution now must respond to the defense’s motion by October 9.
The defense can file a reply back to the prosecution by October 30th.
Luigi’s next state court hearing will be on December 10.
