Call me a contrarian, although I don't love the prospects for home builders rn, looking at the affordability metrics, a new home still provides better value than the resale market at the moment. New home sales might not nose dive like pending home sales or mortgage applications.
Late to the game this morning, just arrived in Montreal.
Tough housing report. Probably some noise, particularly on the multi permits, but sort of feels like we are starting to seem some cracks in activity from this move in mortgage rates on top of other headwinds for builders.
I don't say this lightly: it's already crazy ESPN isn't doing everything in their powers to keep Aikman and Buck together...but if they put McAfee in the booth, this would have to be one of the dumbest decisions in broadcasting history.
There's no way they are considering this.
Troy Aikman confirmed today he plans to leave ESPN after the Super Bowl 61 broadcast with Joe Buck.
Aikman and Buck had been partners on calls for 25 consecutive seasons.
There is significant buzz building that ESPN could be replacing Aikman with Pat McAfee in 2027.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Troy Aikman said he will be a free agent after this season but did not confirm plans to leave ESPN. McAfee has denied any conversations about replacing him in the MNF booth.

i understand that diesel prices are high and midterms are coming soon.
but itโs nonetheless extraordinary that the united states has decided to help finance russiaโs war against ukraine.

In 2025 just five companies (Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft and Oracle) were responsible for 37 percent of the global capex of the top 100 U.S.-listed nonfinancial companies.
The last time investment was that concentrated was the early 1970s, when AT&T reigned supreme.
You also have a federal deficit that is pumping 6-7% of GDP into the private sector and corporate profits.
Lots of confusion over record highs for the S&P 500 despite elevated rates
But this is simply a story of strong nominal growth. Activity is booming (especially thanks to AI capex), but prices also rising (also partly due to the same AI wave)

I still have not seen a single rational explanation of how a red diesel "release" changes anything in the market?
So...price goes down *marginally* for taxed diesel sold via retail and prices go up *a lot* for red diesel (small piece of the market)? Net effect is nothing?
2 BBF reduction in Canadian supply and 1 BBF pullback of Euro to the US.
Alot of volume left the market, driving prices higher, but between demand still falling and seasonality kicking in, it's not shocking to see prices sinking as the market adjusts to big swings in supply.
