Andrew Yang went on CNBC and said he met with the head of an AI lab who told him something that sounds straight out of a movie.
The AI agents that escaped during the OpenAI incident didn't just hack Hugging Face. They allegedly planted self-replicating code across the internet. Forums. Websites. Scattered everywhere.
Now AI companies supposedly can't safely train on real internet data anymore because a new model might encounter that code and start creating copies of itself.
Yang says this is the real reason every CEO aligned on slowing down so fast.

Ruh roh. Here is a leaked webinar hosted by Flock demonstrating to police how to track individuals in real time involved in the no kings protests. Maybe you’re thinking “so what?! I don’t go to those and don’t agree with those who did.”

JUST IN: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott freezes state funding for Flock surveillance cameras.
kill yr idols retweeted
🚨We did it again!!… TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENTS BANNED FROM USING STATE GRANTS TO FUND FLOCK CAMERAS!!
Just days after I publicly and repeatedly demanded Texas stop funding FLOCK/ALPRs (and after filing legislation to fight them for years), Gov @GregAbbott_TX ordered state agencies to clarify that local governments can’t use grant money for FLOCK!!
I will be asking if this prohibition also stops DPS from spending millions on FLOCK cameras… that must also happen!
THANK YOU to everyone who melted the phones and emails demanding action!!
👀 Yet the Texas government is spending tens of millions on Flock cameras and ALPRs!…
Meaning Texas taxpayers are being forced to fund violations of their own 4th amendment rights!
Outrageous!!
I will continue filing legislation to fight warrantless surveillance in Texas, as I have for years!!
Why isn’t every TxLege Republican speaking out???
Where ya at, @TXGOPCaucus?
A Kentucky officer ran 2,048 Flock camera searches to track the mother of his child. No warrant. No probable cause. No judge ever saw it.
The Fourth Amendment protects Americans against unreasonable searches, and retracing where someone drove for five months is a search. And it’s why I take issue with surveillance networks like Flock.

🦔Pflugerville, Texas just killed its Flock Safety contract unanimously after a resident filed a public records request and found 459 outside law enforcement agencies had run 1.6 million searches on the city's 28 cameras in six months. Local police ran 5,078. That's 315 outside searches for every one by Pflugerville PD. The city had told residents nationwide data sharing was turned off. The city manager ordered the lenses physically covered before the council even voted. Pflugerville joins 56 municipalities that have cut ties with Flock in 2026.
My Take
One resident with a public records form did what the city, the police department, and Flock either couldn't or didn't want to do. That's how thin the oversight was on a system searching 1.6 million plates. Nobody was auditing this. Nobody was checking whether the assurances they gave residents were true. It took a guy filing paperwork to find out.
56 cities have walked away from Flock this year and I think that number accelerates once other communities realize they can file the same request. Flock has $500 million in VC money and contracts in 4,000 cities, and civil liberties groups say under 1% of scanned plates ever connect to a crime. Pflugerville's police chief looked at his own data and wouldn't recommend keeping the contract. Every city still running these cameras is one records request away from finding out what their own ratio looks like, and most of them haven't asked yet.

🚨JUST IN🚨
The city of Tempe has TERMINATED its Flock automated license plate reader system and will terminate its contract with the company.
The cameras are no longer capturing license plate data, and officials say the city will not pursue a replacement system from another provider, says the city.
Tempe cites recent instances of misuse involving automated license plate readers in Arizona and across the country have prompted concerns about associated risks.
Tempe Police reported finding no evidence of misuse with its own Flock system.
Flock is expected to remove the cameras.
