My understanding of the slope of a line got so much better when I realised it was a multiplier rather than just a random number produced by a division.
That is, it's not so much that
[slope] = (change in y) / (change in x)
but that
(change in y) = [slope] * (change in x).

It took 2 years to create it w/ fantastic illustrator, Leon Thomas, and to find a home at @olympiapub. Here are some pics of where we started and where we ended up.

Spotted this in an old textbook. I like the way it presents the problems in pairs: one with numbers, one with algebra. I've done this in class discussion before but not as an exercise. Anyway, I made a similar task in case anyone wants to borrow/adapt: tes.com/teaching-resource/in…
