the way so many people in the rivals community just ignore racism genuinely makes my blood boil i lived in arkansas for middle and most of high school, a truly awful, awful place when it comes to racism in freshman year, a close friend of mine took her own life after relentless abuse. she was called the n word as a “nickname” by one group of guys in our grade. they beat and sexually assaulted her multiple times throughout the school year. not a single ounce of punishment for any of them, despite multiple reports. but it doesnt take seeing that happen to someone you love to know that racism is wrong. i knew that long before i moved there, even as a child. i dont understand how someone can be so unbothered by racism or even actively be racist and consider themselves a good person. i will never stand by and say nothing. idgaf if you think im a sensitive little baby for it. i refuse to live any other way
