As a gamedev, what's your metric for success?
Obviously there are levels from "that was neat" to "that was life changing", but what's your cutoff for "That was worth it"?

Indies are going to have a new golden age because of this change.
Something worth mentioning regarding the new Steam update:
The real power behind the new personal calendar tool is the fact that it's not *just* a forward facing timeline.
Before, with the Popular Upcoming list, many indie games appeared and vanished in a matter of hours. Lost from anyone's memory. I can recall multiple times I saw a game that looked cool on that list, said I'd check it out later, only to come back to the list and be unable to find it. I couldn't remember the name, barely remembered the capsule art. It was just gone.
The personal calendar widget on the front page fixes that by showing games that ALSO released *yesterday* as well as new games for today, tomorrow, etc. This removes the time crisis that shoppers may feel to "look at everything before it's gone" and gives games even MORE visibility to casual shoppers. In fact, if shoppers want, they can scroll backwards and see games that released a whole month ago - all right there on the steam front page!
I said it when the update dropped and I'll say it again: this update is a huge win for indies.
The personal calendar is the greatest gift to indies valve has done since the green light program.
I've seen a lot of indie developers worried about Steam's recent algorithm changes and the fact that reaching the Popular Upcoming list seems almost impossible for smaller games.
But as a indie developer releasing Maseylia game in two weeks, my experience has actually been extremely positive so far. +1000 wishlists this morning alone.
Since the update yersterday night, my wishlist growth has noticeably accelerated, and it's from the Steam's new personalized calendar category is playing a big role in that. Instead of only rewarding the biggest upcoming releases, it seems to be surfacing games that are relevant to individual players' interests.
For niche indie games like mine, that's potentially a huge improvement.
It's still early, but from what I'm seeing right now, this change may end up helping smaller titles get discovered by the right audience rather than forcing everyone to compete for the same front-page spots.
Curious to hear what other indie devs are seeing. Has anyone else noticed an increase in visibility or wishlist activity since the update?
What I'm proud of more than anything is that a lot of people genuinely liked playing the Hamsteria Demo๐ฅน
