The British legal system is in a state of "crisis" which must be treated as a "national emergency", a top Welsh QC has warned. 👨‍⚖️Jonathan Rees QC, flanked by 20 barristers on the steps of Cardiff Crown Court, read a statement calling the action a “momentous day”. 🧵

£184.70 plus VAT. This is the fixed fee for our firm for a guilty plea burglary matter which needed managing for 3 months, required 16 hrs of fee earner and admin work and 2 round trips to HMP Thameside. Firms can no longer afford to undertake this type of case. You do the maths.
