@lucaspickford2: I was taken off of 2mg of Klonopin a day for the better part of 10 years. The doctor just said “I’m sorry I can’t prescribe that to you .anymore.” and cut me off cold turkey. It was the most terrifying, harrowing six weeks of my life. It was really, really awful. I won’t”
Doctors are cutting patients off benzodiazepines because of the fearmongering coming from physicians who demonize these medications, along with increasing government scrutiny and regulatory pressure. Benzodiazepines are legitimate medications that can be life-changing and, in some circumstances, lifesaving.

I was also raised to hold physicians in high esteem. That’s no longer the case.
It’s dangerous to leave a loved one alone in the hospital.
It’s dangerous for a pain patient to go to an interventional pain doctor.
Patients are no longer safe unless they know how to defend themselves from medical predators
There’s some great doctors, but there’s a generation who believe all harms are acceptable as long as they don’t treat pain
Replying to @CMerandi
It is so frightening, I grew up believing that doctors were the angels of mercy. Now its very scary thinking you might have to go to a hospital at some point in time and will you be treated with respect or will you be tortured. I have seen so many social media posts it is scary.

I feel bad for all the people who found a natural safe alternative to prescriptions or hard drugs to manage thier ailments only to be taken away by people who think suboxone is a better alternative. Kratom does not ruin lives, but a ban on kratom surely will.

This narrative that all chronic pain is due to childhood abuse or sexual assault is one of the most dangerous false narratives in healthcare today.
We now live in a country where rapists can get their pain treated and the victims cannot.

The Harm Reduction Playbook. Now that I have it in my possession I’m absolutely DISGUSTED that the only mention of pain patients is to USE them to further push Harm Reduction.
Wow.

My colleague, Bev is far kinder than I am
We’ve created a generation of weak- minded individuals.
I blame this on participation trophies and bad parenting.
As a single mom, I ruled with an iron fist and I’m glad I did.
Today’s harm reductionists have led addicts to believe there was nothing wrong with lying, cheating, diverting, and to blame their woes on doctors.
How about you apologize instead?
How about: “I’m sorry my actions have led to people being denied pain medication?”

I actually didn't tell you I blamed addicts. I asked you some questions about your views. It doesn't sting, Erin, I am just trying to figure out why you think that there aren't consequences for actions.

Indivior is running direct-to-consumer advertising for SUBLOCADE buprenorphine, a Schedule III opioid.
I thought opioid manufacturers were prohibited from doing this.
Replying to @CMerandi
The TV ads say Sublocade will help with opioid addiction. The ads NEVER mention that IT IS AN OPIOID.

Rules for thee, not for me.
For years we were told to “follow the money” on Purdue, the Sacklers, and the opioid industry.
Fine. I agree.
But then follow all the money.
Indivior. Pacira. Vertex. Addiction-treatment companies. Drug-testing companies. Plaintiff firms. Mass-tort lawyers. Paid experts. Litigation consultants. Advocacy groups.
If Purdue funding matters, their funding matters too.
Same with kratom. Plaintiff lawyers have a formal Kratom Litigation Group. Litigation consultants are working kratom cases while also showing up in policy fights. Addiction-treatment interests are showing up too.
So disclose it.
Who pays you?
Who do you work for?
What lawsuits are you involved in?
Who benefits if the policy passes?
And yes, the same rule applies outside drug policy.
You want scrutiny of AIPAC?
Great. Me too.
But then bring the same scrutiny to CAIR and every other advocacy group trying to influence U.S. policy.
Before anyone screams because I mentioned Israel, ask yourself why “follow the money” suddenly becomes sacred for one side and optional for another.
Transparency that only applies to the people you already hate isn’t transparency.
Imagine hating capitalism but supporting mass tort lawyers.

Both Matthew Perry and Presley Gerber were prescribed the opioid, Suboxone
Last night, the television show Extra with Derek Hough discussed the tragic passing of Presley Gerber.
During the segment, they used a video Presley posted back in December in which he discussed medications he had been prescribed, including buprenorphine and a benzodiazepine.
Extra edited the clip so that viewers only heard the portion mentioning the benzodiazepine, leaving out his reference to the opioid buprenorphine entirely.

Attn: GYNECOLOGISTS:
Why do some of you still think it’s acceptable to perform painful procedures like IUD insertions, endometrial biopsies without offering pain control?
What I find especially disturbing is that many of you are women yourselves.
You KNOW women’s pain is real, yet patients are still being told to “take some ibuprofen” before procedures that can cause significant pain.
The medical community had no problem adopting non-evidence based 2016 cdc opioid guideline
2025, when the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists issued updated guidance specifically addressing pain management for in-office uterine and cervical procedures including IUD insertion and endometrial biopsy and suddenly following guidelines isn’t urgent???
Why are women still expected to just endure the pain?
Stop normalizing suffering.

You told us once doctors stopped prescribing pain medication, overdoses would decline
Rhode Island was duped
RIDOH is issuing an overdose spike alert for residents of Cumberland, Lincoln, Smithfield, and North Smithfield.
According to RIDOH emergency department (ED) data, higher-than-usual non-fatal drug overdose activity occurred among residents of this region between 9/1/26 and 9/7/26. Cumberland residents were most impacted. Most of these overdoses involved fentanyl or other opioids. Read the alert for more details: tinyurl.com/47j6fts6
