On October 31, 2020, Father Michael J. McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus, was beatified in Hartford, Connecticut. A humble parish priest with an extraordinary vision, Father McGivney dedicated his life to strengthening Catholic families, caring for those in need, and helping men live their faith through charity and fraternity. More than a century after his death, his mission continues through the Knights of Columbus, and the faithful continue to seek his intercession. As we celebrate the sixth anniversary of his beatification, we give thanks for his remarkable witness to holiness and ask for his continued prayers. Learn more at fathermcgivney.org Blessed Michael McGivney, pray for us!

The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty

To put killing on display is to extol it. Society needs to regain respect for human life and dignity. #cultureofdeath

The decision to publicize killing illustrates how far society has fallen. When government leaders not only condone but hype and broadcast an execution, there is no wonder why human life is treated as disposable.

Our age needs men and women who have the courage to do good even when it comes at a cost. Draw close to those who are alone, support those who are weary, and seek out those who have drifted away. Have the courage to forgive, to begin again, and to engage in dialogue.

There exists a martyrdom of those who offer their lives in a single moment, and the more hidden martyrdom of those who give their lives day after day. This is exactly what all Christians are called to do: to give our lives with love, every day.

When a 16-year-old girl met a "new friend" online, she was coerced into sending them a photo of her face. That's all the predator needed, AI did the rest. She received fake explicit images of herself and a countdown clock demanding money she didn't have. Her family's story is streaming now in "Sextortion in the Age of AI," exclusively on our YouTube channel. Hear how they fought back, and why our agents say sextortion is never a one-time payment. Watch it now, then talk to your teens. youtu.be/hwa8y2xOQow

Take a moment to pray for Charlie Kirk, for his family, and for our country. Our political disagreements with one another matter—sometimes they matter a lot. But never so much that we should stop seeing our neighbors as fellow Americans and as human beings made in God’s image.

The communities that welcome migrants and refugees can be a living witness of a society where the dignity of all as children of God is recognised and in which all are brothers and sisters, part of the same family. #WDMR2025 @vaticanIHD vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

I am deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and injury caused by the military attack on the Holy Family Catholic Church in #Gaza. I assure the parish community of my spiritual closeness. I commend the souls of the deceased to the loving mercy of Almighty God, and pray for their families and the injured. I renew my call for an immediate ceasefire. Only dialogue and reconciliation can ensure enduring peace!

Independence Day gives Americans an opportunity to consider the advantages and opportunities we enjoy – as well as the responsibility to preserve and advance them. ā€œLife, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happinessā€ are not hollow words.

They are ideals that recognize the dignity of every human person. As we celebrate today, let’s be mindful of the rights we have in freedom of religion and expression, and realize our duty to promote the Common Good.
