This is not a model. This is the writer of the first book. I put my own face next to Victoria’s story. Two Englishmen. One woman who had to learn what real happiness was. What did your first book ask you to show of yourself? 💛 #InnerFire

The silence had a name. I just stopped calling it strength. What name are you still giving to the thing that keeps you quiet? 💛 #InnerFire

Sanctions relief will continue. I think the diesel deal and the move regarding the Lindsey Graham Act are not the end of it. Unfortunately. It’s unfortunate because we all had great respect for Lindsey. He devoted his life to America. We had an excellent relationship with him. And shortly before the tragedy, Lindsey was in Ukraine. He always supported us very strongly and pushed for as much assistance to Ukraine as possible. It’s difficult without him, I’ll be honest. I want to thank both Democrats and Republicans who supported his bill. That was a major victory: this truly bipartisan support. And now, the decision to undo all of this, to block all of it, seems wrong to me. And it definitely helps only the Russians. It only fuels their satisfaction and their desire to keep killing people. This certainly does not stop the war. From answers to journalists’ questions. (1/3)

I almost closed the door. Not because the pain stopped. Because an open heart became expensive. What are you still protecting by keeping one door almost closed? 💛 #InnerFire

I had a good meeting with the President of the European Council, António Costa @eucopresident, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen @vonderleyen. Right now, there are no signals from Russia that it is ready to end its war. The signals it is sending point to something entirely different and certainly do not bring peace any closer. After overnight Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, Russia carried out a horrific strike on Kharkiv this morning. Two people have already been reported killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Seventeen others were injured. Russia also struck a shopping mall in Rivne and energy facilities in four regions. European leadership is needed to ensure that people's lives are sufficiently protected from this Russian terror. We appreciate that everything we agree on is implemented promptly. Today, we discussed further assistance, first and foremost for our energy and air defense needs. We talked about support for our financial resilience, including for next year, and coordinated our work on the European integration track. It is important that new negotiating clusters were opened this week. We are working to open the remaining two by the end of the year. Thank you, António! Thank you, Ursula! Thank you, EU!

He ran from the silence. Then he came back to his own name. What name did you leave behind when the silence got too loud? 💛 #InnerFire

I almost left her name off the page. Then I looked up and wrote it back. Whose name are you still afraid to put next to your own? 💛 #InnerFire

I lost my head the moment I saw him. Something in my heart began to burn. What are you still calling a dream that has already begun to burn? 💛 #InnerFire

When he is rejected and betrayed by those once called friends. When allies grow weary, politicians negotiate, and some are already poised to shake the hand of the executioner. When his life and the life of his country are daily targets for rockets, drones, bombs, and lies. I have no idea how this man has endured all this. And continues to endure it. He does not look like a movie hero. He looks like a man who hasn't slept in years. He has been cast aside. With eyes burning for the homes of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Odesa. With eyes that see all of Ukraine. He asks for no pity. He courageously asks for weapons. He does not flee. He stands his ground and bares his chest. When offered evacuation, he says: "I need ammunition, not a taxi." And this is not just a catchy phrase. It is a choice proven over years. Every day. Every night. Right now. He has been betrayed and continues to be betrayed. He has been underestimated and continues to be underestimated. He has been insulted and continues to be insulted. He has been put to the test and continues to be put to the test. And he stands tall. In the shadow of ruined cities. With weary soldiers. In the shadow of a world that is also weary—a world that wants to forget this war in Ukraine and think of something that causes no suffering or stress, something pleasant. Yet he reminds everyone. He speaks to people as if holding their hands. And there is something in that which brings a lump to one's throat. In all my life, I have never admired any public figure more than him. And I think, perhaps, I never will again. Because such admiration is not about politics. It is about a man who, when everything is falling apart, does not ask "Why me?" but—like a knight—does what must be done. I am certain he will stand firm, even if it costs him his life. Even if all his friends leave. Even if the whole world turns its back on him. He will not betray his principles. The entire world respects him—not because he is perfect, but because he is the strongest of them all, because he has raised the banner of the highest values: human dignity, freedom, and democracy. And all of Ukraine stands with him—weary and wounded, yet unbowed. Perhaps in the future, you will vote for someone else in the presidential election. That is your right. But today, let us respect him. We have a president who deserves respect and of whom we need not be ashamed. May he have strength and patience. Volodymyr Oleksandrovych deserves kind words and every form of support today. So let us give it to him—it is our duty!

He could have sold the silence. He told the truth instead. What did you almost sell so you could stay quiet? 💛 #InnerFire

I almost called the silence strength when it was only fear. What are you still calling strength that is actually fear? 💛 #InnerFire
