Today, let’s pause and look at this pattern, not personalities. Since taking office, the William Ruto administration has consistently made education harder for poor families: - University fees were raised immediately after elections, forcing thousands of needy students to drop out. - His CBC/CBE rollout has coincided with over 800,000 needy Grade 10 learners failing to transition and dropping out. - The new university funding model saw thousands of needy students last year unable to report due to cost. - But more importantly, they were planning to do away with capitation funding that has been helping the poor students etcetra. These are not isolated decisions. They point to a system and a government that is quietly pushing the poor out of education. Contrast this with President Kibaki, who believed every Kenyan child deserved to complete high school, regardless of background. As we approach 2027, Kenyans must remember patterns, not promises. Enjoy your Sunday.

TO THE YOUTH OF KENYA: Article 55 is NOT a suggestion, it is a COMMAND! The future doesn't belong to the youth; the present does. The Constitution is a debt the State owes you. Under Article 55, both National and County governments must ensure you access education and skills, representation, real jobs, and protection from exploitation. These are rights, not favors. If affirmative action only benefits the well-connected, then the State is violating the Constitution. We must stop the culture of lamentation and move toward the culture of constitutional litigation and civic action. Stop lamenting. Start demanding. Know your rights. Organize. Act. #KatibaMkononi #YouthPowerKE #ReKe

He was raised by a single mother in a very humble home, and this opportunity could truly change his life. Attempts to transfer him closer to home to reduce cost were unsuccessful. Any support to help Brian join Meteitei and pursue his dreams would mean the world to us. 🙏

Last week I came across a disturbing notice shared by Nestlé and also communicated by South African authorities, plus other governments. Parents were advised not to use NAN baby products with batch number 51660742F3 due to possible contamination with cereulide, which can cause vomiting and nausea in infants. If you’re using these products, please take a moment to check the batch number and follow the official guidance. And once again, where possible, breastfeeding is still the safest option. For porridge, many families can prepare simple, natural mixes at home by combining and grinding cereals. It’s food you understand, control, and trust. Children’s health should never be a gamble. Stay informed. Stay safe.

My people, a sister shared hospital documents for her patient who had been faithfully paying SHa, just as required. This is why we keep saying " Article 35 is not a favour" , and why "tunataka haki yetu". The patient fell sick. Total bill: KSh 805,000. SHa paid: KSh 112,000. Under NHIF, cases like this were largely covered. What concerns me is this: once we raised questions, SHa payment data from September was immediately hidden public view. Yet every day, Kenyans are urged through ads and official statements by CS duale & the PS to trust and join SHa. So I ask, calmly and genuinely: how does SHA protect citizens from catastrophic health costs & Harambees? Where does the difference go? Where are the monies kenyans are paying under SHA disappearing to? A health system & especially an insurance system should protect people at their weakest. Release ShA payment data now

Amkeni.... Grade 10 admissions are a CRISIS. Parents still don't know which schools to take their children. They have now been left to beg principals to accept to admit their children. Parents have to cough 150,000KSH for a spot and before you can even see the principal to negotiate an opportunity, you pay a 10,000KSH commitment fee. Why is this regime hell bent on driving classism even in sectors protected by the COK to promote equity, equality and inclusion? These problems are as a result of one being governed by Nincompoops and makeshift PHD holders led by your president @WilliamsRuto and also because those occupying leadership position have no regard for the Constitution. But priority is to resume parliament sittings early to discuss Privatization and the sale of Safaricom so that your spendthrift of a president @WilliamsRuto can finance his KUZURURA ADDICTION ‼️ #RutoMustGo by whatever means necessary ‼️ We cannot be led by a regime hell bent to take us back to the days when illiteracy was glorified. We know that's the script they have so they can maintain control through their children who they have educated abroad. Just to spite us even more. Kenya needs a renaissance and that starts by #RutoMustGo Oh and btw Grade 10 students still don't have their curriculum books printed 🤦‍♀️

DEFENDING KENYA’S STRATEGIC ASSETS: PETITION FILED TO STOP KPC PRIVATISATION On 2 January 2026, together with Bernard Muchiri Muchere and Naomi Nyakerario Misati, we filed a constitutional petition at the High Court of Kenya challenging the proposed privatisation of KenyaPipeline Company Limited (@kenyapipeline) and other strategic State-Owned Enterprises. We have moved to court to stop the Government’s plan to sell 65% of KPC through an Initial Public Offering by March 2026. This plan is unconstitutional, unlawful, and anti-sovereign. It is not a decision of the people of Kenya, but one driven by external pressure from the International Monetary Fund (@IMFNews). KPC is a profitable, 100% publicly owned strategic asset. In 2024 alone, it posted KSh 6.87 billion in profit and paid KSh 7 billion in dividends to the @KeTreasury. Selling such an asset to service public debt violates public finance law and erodes national sovereignty, energy security, collective ownership, and intergenerational justice. Our petition raises grave constitutional concerns, including: •IMF conditionalities that undermine Kenya’s constitutional sovereignty •Over KSh 97 billion in unaccounted retained earnings and depreciation funds at KPC •Lack of public participation and transparency •Irregular and unlawful appointments at the Privatisation Commission •Misuse of Parliament, with approvals sought via Sessional Paper instead of proper legislation We are asking the Court to declare the entire privatisation process unconstitutional, quash all related decisions and notices, and permanently bar any further steps toward the sale of KPC. This is a public-interest case. We seek no compensation or costs. Our sole objective is to defend the Constitution and protect public assets that belong to all Kenyans, today and for generations to come.

Apparently Gazeti ya Leo which was trending from yesterday entails this: - A hard-hitting People’s Audit on Kenya’s fiscal and governance crisis, arguing our pain is not accidental but the result of deliberate political choices. - It exposes how corruption, state capture, opaque debt, and elite interests have hollowed out the Constitution, starved hospitals, schools and counties, and pushed citizens from hustle to hardship. Grab yourself a People’s Audit today

My people, as I was reviewing batch numbers and details from the sugar samples we collected, something became extremely clear: Over 90% of the sugar currently being sold in Kenya is from Uganda. Meanwhile, farmers in Kakamega and other regions still have sugarcane rotting in farms, waiting endlessly for permits from factories to harvest. For example: Naivas sugar - Kakira, Uganda Nutrameal sugar - Uganda Mumias sugar - largely sourced from Uganda Kabras sugar - also heavily linked to Ugandan supply And even the ones being sold in retail shops across western is from uganda So the truth is simple: Our sugar industry is being sacrificed to appease Uganda. And now Uganda is even preparing to purchase KPC. Remember when the government halted sugarcane harvesting, claiming "there wasn’t enough sugarcane"? Now you can see the bigger picture. A government that can abandon its own farmers, its own industries, and its own people like this, should not be rewarded in 2027.

So MPs have rejected SHA for a private health cover. This means SHA is useless.

From the Auditor General's Report as documented in #ThePeoplesAudit "Out of 83 sampled schools, 14 ghost schools received Ksh 16.6B in capitation funds, 6 schools which had closed down received Ksh 889M." What does article 226(5) of the constitution say? - If the holder of a public office, including a political office, directs or approves the use of public funds contrary to law or instructions, the person is liable for any loss arising from that use and shall make good the loss, whether the person remains the holder of the office or not. Have the people who sent those billions to ghost schools been arrested? The money was sent to bank accounts with account numbers attached to individuals. Have the individuals been traced or tracing is only useful when running after government critics? Remember that in Kisumu County there's a school that only received 87 bob and another school 3,900 only. Ten million school children have only been allocated a feeding program of Ksh 3B, meaning 1 bob per child per day. And someone still says that this is a country? There's no country here! #RutoMustGoNow #DrainTheSwamp

Even before going through the documents shared by @HonAdenDuale, I have to say I’m quite surprised that the promise to release them was actually fulfilled. This is how every document concerning the public should be handled. Put it out in the open and let citizens make their own analysis. I have seen already someone has made their own analysis very nice! @mohuhassan
