🇪🇸 Yesterday’s loco fire on a Madrid-Barcelona AVE train has created staggering photos today. The undamaged part will be towed to Zaragoza. Technicians are assessing how to remove the tail loco, whose chassis has been deformed. The line has reopened on a single track.

oh dear...
Italy's only 'every weekend' heritage railway suffers serious incident today. The heritage train on the 50km Sulmona-Roccaraso line, Abruzzo collided with the cradle of a road crane working on a bridge. Injuries to bridge workers. 400 passengers trapped for many hours.

Really encouraging observations from Hugh about the potential of the young artists he heard at this event- and why they give us reasons to be optimistic about the future of the art form we love ❤️

🏆 Dazzling, dynamic, dominant 🏆 #Daryz, a son of #SeaTheStars, becomes only the 5th colt ever to win back-to-back Arcs. He follows Ksar (1921/22), Tantième (1950/51), Ribot (1955/56) and Alleged (1977/78) - all of whom later became influential stallions. #QPAT 🟢🔴
SUPERSTAR! 💚 Daryz becomes the first colt to retain the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe since 1978! 🤩 @GraffardRacing @AgaKhanStuds

Golden hour on East Lothian’s Coast 🌅 Port Seton offers open coastal views looking out toward the Firth of Forth, and has an accessible footpath as part of the John Muir Way. It was built as a harbour in 1656 by the 11th Lord Seton, whose residence was further inland at Seton Palace, and grew into a fishing harbour. After the Jacobite Rising in 1715, the Seton’s lost their estate and management of the mining assets passed to the York Building Company. In 1722 they built the Tranent Wagonway, Scotland’s first railway carrying coal from Tranent to Cockenzie. The Wagonway was later used to transport troops to the Battle of Prestonpans in the 2nd Jacobite Rising in 1745.
