In 2014, after being named Teacher of the Year, my supervisor told me if I said I was gay in public I would be "shot in the head."
I was told I would be fired if I did not bring her all of my private mail from home to read. (more)
Soon to be one of the most important songs in US history. Time to buy some music.

Hey @FredMeyerInc - we get our groceries delivered. We got two cartons of rotten dairy dated Jan 20 (as in chunky and nasty). Nowhere on your website/reciept can I find a way to inform you that A. I need a refund and B. you are selling rotten food (what store it came from).

When President Clinton banned assault rifles in 1994, mass shootings dropped by 43%. After Republicans let the ban expire in 2004, they increased by 243% — please don’t tell me bans don’t work, because I don’t want to hear it.
There are 500 tons of food (high calorie biscuits for children) in the USAID warehouses that are set to be burned tomorrow because there is no staff left to distribute it. We paid for that food. It is ours. NOT trump's to destroy on his silly whims. FEED THOSE KIDS!!

It has been ten (kinda fast) years since this article came out. To say my life has never been the same would be an understatement.

I remember when Jimmy Carter put solar panels on the roof of the White House. It made me think that we would be OK. That smart people could use their brains to help us save ourselves.
It was the first time I felt a politician cared about what I care about.
RIP President Carter.
If you got a lot of cards this year I would be very thankful if you sent the fronts of them to me for a classroom art project. (We are going to cut them up-make "quilts" out of the pieces, and take them to the nearby retirement home next December).
EVERY holiday card is welcome!
Thank you @Massteacherguy! You are the only one who liked my "dad's second family" post and I thought it was my best tweet ever!
It earned you a follow. (though mostly on Bluesky-same name)

🎄 Take a moment to watch this heartwarming Christmas video from President Biden.
A beautiful reminder of the normalcy, kindness, and decency his administration has brought.
We’re truly going to miss him.

I might have gone overboard but: I once took the whole hallway and cut paper icicles that hung the entire hallway. I cut big circles and made giant snow people, students did snow-related work. Also made green trees-kids made a bird with a wish for the new year on the back.
