It's International Day of Women and Girls in Science, and a couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to chat with some remarkable women in palaeo from Australia and around the world.
The following thread shares links to several of those conversations. 🧵

A couple of yrs ago I switched up our second-year palaeo essay. I made each student pick a DIFFERENT topic, and they had to come up with a clever title. The class votes on their fave and the winner gets a "palaeo prize pack". There are some awesome titles this year (thread):
"A reef history of time: The evolution of reefs from the Precambrian to the Recent"
👀My god. I am stealing this one.
Congrats to all the GEOL202 students @UniNewEngland for their awesome engagement with the essay this trimester. May the catchiest, punniest and most excellent title win!
We are still taking nominations for the prestigious 2023 Digby McLaren and ICS Medals! For more info: stratigraphy.org/prizes. Nominations close 13th Feb! @AlegretLaia @ICS2022 @theIUGS
