I hate everything about this. But my fantasy team is desperate...
ESPN sources: Packers RB Josh Jacobs is being removed from the NFL’s Commissioner Exempt list on Monday. The investigation will remain open for the NFL so it reserves the right to add further discipline if and when warranted. Jacobs is expected to be eligible to play in Week 7.

Dispensationalism isn’t new or novel. The word “dispensationalism” is relatively new (a few hundred years old), but it simply describes the most conservative and literal reading of Scripture. It’s a hermeneutic that has been with us since the early church fathers, and has been a predominant way of understanding Scripture in Protestant, particularly Baptist, traditions since God's word first started being translated into the common language. It’s not a heresy, and there’s nothing weird about it. It’s simply a way of reading Scripture that takes it simply and says, “The Bible actually means what it says.” And yes, some conclusions about Israel do follow from a plain reading of scripture. I myself am not a strict dispensationalist, but the idea that it’s something new, novel, or heretical simply isn’t true. That idea seems to be mainly pushed by Jew-haters who need a theological reason for their hatred.
The Bible doesn’t actually “say so”. Dispensational Zionism was always a novel perversion of the Scripture.

Nobody is taking away Social Security, but if they did, you would vote for communists in a hissy fit and burn down the country that your grandchildren will have to inherit? That's morally indefensible, obviously. Childish and petulant. Demanding that the government steal from young people the way it stole from you, and threatening to destroy everything if they don't, is such an abhorrent position that I'm surprised you aren't too embarrassed to say it publicly.

Usually I agree with you and I’m a staunch Republican but if you take away my Social Security I’m a Democrat for the first time in my life. I spent my entire life planning for retirement with Social Security a major part of it and paid into the systems as a young person so that the older generation could have some support I’ll make a deal with you, pay me back every penny I put into it and every penny my employers put into it on my behalf at 5% interest and you can take away the monthly checks.

Throughout all history every generation has had one primary, even all-consuming, concern: to provide, through self-sacrifice, for their children's future and leave behind them a better world for their progeny— 'til now. The Greatest generation seems to have produced the Weakest.

Please tell me we're not pearl-clutching about veggie tales 30 years late. 🙄
The kids found some old Veggie Tales DVDs… and I had forgotten how empty and subversive these things were. David and Goliath becomes a lesson in… “self esteem?” The actual lesson of the story, as stated at the end of the episode, is “you don’t have to change who you are to be special.” That’s the expressed lesson. Of DAVID AND GOLIATH. Our parents put these in our DVD players thinking we were getting Bible lessons. No wonder half my generation deconstructed.

Best Kurt Russell movie, but it can't be The Thing, Escape from New York, or Hateful Eight.

Look at each and every use of the word “predestined” in scripture. Not one of them is about individuals being predetermined to become believers by God. Not one.
It’s only difficult if you assume God predestines some people to believe in Him and the rest to reject Him. Instead, the Bible says He predestines those IN HIM to be made holy and blameless (Eph 1:4) and to be conformed into the image of Christ (Rom 8:29).
