My coworker kept leaving the office 30 minutes early every day.
Everyone noticed, but nobody said anything because he was one of the manager’s favourites.
Meanwhile, the rest of us had to stay late whenever there was unfinished work.
One Friday, my colleague finally complained to our manager.
“Why does James get to leave early while we have to stay?”
The manager looked annoyed.
“James has an arrangement with me. Focus on your own work.”
That answer made everyone even angrier.
The following Monday, James didn’t show up.
Neither did he on Tuesday or Wednesday.
By Thursday, our manager was panicking and asking everyone if they had heard from him.

One thing I've learned from #SocialMining is that timing can influence visibility just as much as the quality of a contribution.
What I like about this update from @TheDAOLabs is the attempt to make that timing more predictable without turning participation into another race for attention.
The seven-day reassessment also rings louder. A contribution shouldn't be judged entirely by what happens in its first few hours. Giving it room to gain traction makes the reward process feel more connected to sustained engagement than immediate reactions.
I'm curious to see how this plays out beyond staging, especially for contributors who put real thought into their posts.
