all that stuff makes me anxious and I'm too drained to socialise so I just use the bookmarks now to write what I want. but on my own fics, I understand this anxiety so I give them a cheatsheet if they want to comment but are afraid because of authors like this

Siento que igual es pq el fandom está madurando junto con ellos. Muchas de nosotras trabajamos y/o estudiamos y la vdd darle seguimiento al grupo se vuelve difícil. Hasta cierto punto el ser fan deja de ser prioridad y terminas enfocándote solo en la música

also!! imo, over-policing engagement on a public fanfiction archive site feels counterintuitive to the entire concept. there shouldn’t be a burden for readers to comment on fics. the kudos button is the most neutral, convenient way to accommodate for every reader in terms of feedback.

I remember reading a fic recently and a commentor left a comment that basically went "OMG we talk about your fic in our discord all the time" and I was like....."you could just leave comments for the author???" The fic author is also part of the fandom experience 🙃

like you could write the most harmless comment and thered be at least one author that would still find a way to find it offensive. you can't win with these people, it's either one thing or another, and i think that's one reason that makes people hesitate to comment too lmao
