The cryptographic world computer:
vitalik.eth.limo/general/202…
My attempt to express in somewhat concise terms the true meaning of basically everything planned to happen to Ethereum starting from the fork after Hegota. It's really not just a blockchain anymore. It's a hybrid architecture that combines together blockchains and modern cryptography, to enable much more powerful properties.
FOCIL, EIP-8288, Lean consensus, state management, formal verification, advanced mempool improvements (including privacy), and the longer-term specter of obfuscation all mentioned.
I now consider collecting ENS names more of a hobby than a serious investment. My focus has shifted toward flipping Web2 domains, and I’ve been successful with it so far. That’s where the opportunity is and that’s where I’ll be putting my time, money, and attention going forward.

>ENS
It’s hard to keep building for this protocol for free, advocating for it, and putting years into it when you can do everything you think is right and still end up wondering whether any of it really matters.
Especially when part of what worked against us was wanting to do more around education, outreach, growth, and building more for YOU, the actual people using ENS.
That’s the part I keep coming back to.
Because that was always the point.
Not just operating a marketplace. Not just watching volume. Actually helping people understand ENS, use it, build with it, and giving people more reasons to stay involved.
ENS is still decentralized, for now.
But decentralization on paper doesn’t automatically mean the ecosystem around it is healthy.
Ask yourself why so many builders, contributors, teams, and longtime community members have quietly left over the years.
That doesn’t happen for no reason.
There are days where being this involved in ENS feels like a waste of time. Then I look at the people still here and remember why I keep going.
You registering names. You using them. You building with them. You helping someone else understand what ENS can actually do.
You using ENS and me using ENS is what keeps this thing moving.
Protocols don’t survive because of committees, grants, or governance votes alone. They survive because people continue to care enough to use them and build around them.
I appreciate everyone who has supported Vision, supported me, or simply kept showing up.
One chapter is closing.
I’m still here.
Onward.
Hello Frens, ENS Vision was not selected for the Marketplace RFP grant, and unfortunately that means Vision will be shutting down.
We finished as the second-highest scoring application. The committee recognized our operating history, the product we built, and the user base we’ve grown, but ultimately felt our forward-looking case leaned too heavily on market recovery, marketing/education, and volume figures they couldn’t independently verify.
Obviously, being part of the Vision team, this one hurts.
We’ve spent years building something that people actually use across ENS, through good markets and bad ones, and I’m incredibly proud of what the team created. I understand there was a process and a scoring rubric behind the decision, but it’s still difficult watching a proven, operating ENS product reach the end of the road because we couldn’t secure the funding needed to keep it going.
Nomemtum Labs, operating Grails, was recommended for the $500K award.
Not the outcome any of us wanted, but I’m grateful for everyone who used Vision, supported us, gave feedback, shared it, or helped us build along the way.
It’s been a hell of a ride.

Building a product, brand, platform, campaign, or real-world system and wondering where ENS could fit?
ENS is not limited to crypto. It can make identity, payments, verification, infrastructure, physical products, public records, AI agents, and customer experiences more portable, sovereign, and independently verifiable.
I’m a U.S.-based builder who has worked with users, organizations, and industries of all kinds. I’ll research what you’re building, uncover the ENS angle others missed, shape the concept, create the launch content, and help develop the demo or integration behind it.
I’m opening a limited number of paid client engagements through Heavens Tools.
My free consultation slots are currently full, so all new projects are being accepted as paid work only.
Bring me the idea.
Let’s turn it into a use case people will actually understand, share, and use.

the .eth comes off, the end of a chapter for me
I have decided to move on from ENS, given recent events and other reasons. I'm grateful for my time with ENS and I wish everyone well going forward
This includes winding down @ethidorg. I and my incredible teammates are open to new opportunities, DMs are welcome. My team has been amazing! Any of them would make a great addition to your team: @0xthrpw @encrypteddegen @sat_eth @jalilwahdat @quantumly 🔥
Re our projects like @grailsmarket, @ensmarketbot, @efp, etc: Thank you to all of our users, we appreciate you! Most of these projects will sunset over the next few weeks (tho code remains open source), more information will be posted later
Godspeed everyone 🤝
