I guess my hot take is once youre a parent youre a parent until you die.
That means helping take care of grandkids especially if you arent working and healthy.

Nostalgia raised us, a lot of us were latchkey kids- and while boomers rejected therapy, and gen x were still making the mistakes of their own parents, millennials often used cartoons, video games and movies as escapism from trauma. the 90s was a golden age of media
I’m not a millennial, but I’ve always found this interesting.
A lot of millennials seem unusually attached to childhood nostalgia well into adulthood. Not just remembering it fondly, but actively revisiting it, recreating it, and sometimes even trying to experience things they feel they missed growing up.
From cartoons and video games to fandoms, toys, collectibles, and childhood franchises, nostalgia seems to play a much bigger role in millennial culture than it does for Gen Z or older generations.
Maybe it’s because they grew up during the transition from an analog world to a digital one. Maybe it’s because childhood felt more optimistic before social media, smartphones, and constant online pressure became the norm.
I don't necessarily think it's cringe. If anything, it's a fascinating generational trait.
But it does make me wonder:
Why do millennials seem so much more interested in reliving childhood than the generations before or after them?

Probably going to be completely overlooked by the media but today is the 200th birthday of photography as a medium and that’s pretty cool

As a neurodivergent, my biggest mistake was assuming everyone wants to know the truth.

“God” could tear the sky open tomorrow, appear in front of me and prove beyond doubt that he exists. My first response still wouldn’t be to get on my fucking knees.
If the gods described in Christianity, Islam, Judaism or any other holy book were proven real tomorrow, belief stops being the question. Cool, you exist. Now explain why the fuck I should worship you.
Because some of these gods, as described, are vicious, petty, jealous and cruel. I’m not bowing, praising or surrendering my life just because something powerful exists.
Being real might earn acknowledgement. It doesn’t earn my respect.

Younger folks may not be aware of this, but there was a time when September heralded the arrival of cooler weather that would last through the rest of the year.
